Exquisite Quarantine Poem: BLIND

ICU Daniela Gitlin Group 4
“ICU” by Daniela Gitlin. Used with permission.

The tabby cat swatted the wooden blinds.
This was his method of waking me daily
The sadistic brother held tightly a stick
with it he calmly scratched just a bit
An aching world breathes the healing charm.
It’s myth to think that we would do no harm
The scared people hoard the vital toilet paper
When will our collective nightmare be over?
The distinguished Gentleman woke the sleepy dog.
“REM sleep is over-rated” he thought.
