Health.com this week put out a list of the 50 fattiest foods in America, choosing one from each of the 50 states.
Congrats to Nick Tahou’s, whose Garbage Plate is New York’s fattiest food.
According to the story:
Fat content: While there’s no official dietary analysis for the various versions of garbage plates, estimates and homemade recipes clock in at anywhere from about 93 grams of fat per plate to an astounding 203 grams, enough for more than three days.
Other foods on the list include Colorado’s Jack-N-Grill’s 7-pound breakfast burritos, which is made with seven potatoes, 12 eggs, a pound of ham, a whole onion, cheese, and chili, and Michigan’s BLT at Tony’s I-75, which includes an entire pound of bacon.
And I was worried about my 3200 mg of sodium from my Popeye’s meal? Yeesh. And we wonder why Americans are so fat.
