Forbes magazine published an article recently explaining what your dog’s name says about you. In the article, Stephen Zawistowski, a biologist with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, said, “Naming a dog is often geared towards what the owners want to see expressed.”
Based on a 2008 survey conducted by the ASPCA that suggested that “new dog owners choose their pet’s names based on their interests and on how they want to be seen by others,” the article included a list of the 10 most popular dog names and what they say about their owners.
One of our dogs made the list, and here’s what it said:
Bandit – “You are probably looking for mischief and excitement in your life–things that are currently lacking … You have your life under control and everything is in order, but you want people to think you have a wild side.”
As they say, be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.
